Our hearts are so full from the smiles, joy and stories shared when we arranged for a mobile petting zoo to visit the residents of the nonprofit Golden Age Home Assisted Living in Lockhart for #NationalAssistedLivingWeek. We always like to do something very hands on when we engage with or friends at GAG and try to come up with activities that would be out of the ordinary for them and something to look forward to. Their excitement was so evident as they lined up early under the covered sidewalk waiting for the animals to be set up.
Everyone enjoyed the fresh morning air & sunshine as they held, petted and cuddled rabbits, chicks, geese, pigs and goats from Fry’s Fun Farm. The gentlemen from Fry’s Fun Farm could not have been more patient, attentive and knowledgeable and downright fun when assisting the residents. The animals were so well take care of and it was a delight to hear so many of the residents reminisce about their days raising many of the same animals on their farms years ago.
It was such a memorable day for all involved and the pet therapy was good for all of us!
